Our mission is to promote a healthy and interesting lifestyle and to keep one foot moving in front of the other for as long as we can! We hope that by sharing our love and passion for walking and life we might encourage someone else to just keep moving!

I’m Patti the primary author and photographer of this blog. I love to take pictures but it’s a work in progress.I left a career as a bank auditor when I became a mom and when our children reached school age I became a teacher. I'm officially retired from that career and I now volunteer at our local adult literacy group teaching reading and basic math to adults learners. I've recently taken up bird watching as a hobby and love getting out and finding new birds to add to my life list.
John's passion is astronomy and
he spends many a night in his backyard observatory or going to what the kids
and I call 'the dark side'. That’s when he gets together with fellow astronomers
to gaze at the stars until the wee hours of the morning. He’s actually a pretty good astrophotographer and
you might see some of his photos on the blog now and again.
We’ve been
married for over 3 decades. Wow when did that happen? We’re mom and dad to three grown boys and Juju
and Pop Pop to four five grandbabies. Family is everything!
We decided that walking was not only good for our health but
a fun way to spend time together, get outside, see new places and to meet
people. We like to spend weekends and vacations walking, traveling and eating. We’re slowly moving towards full time
retirement and travel but for now that means weekends and 4 or 5 vacation weeks
a year. But that’s OK. There’s plenty to see and do right in our own neck of
the woods.
This blog is a journal of place we walk and eat locally and on our travels. We hope you
enjoy and maybe you’ll be inspired to
lace up your walking shoes and get
outside!
